The Ocean’s Edge

Ocean’s Edge Wayside is between South 1st Avenue between Highway 101 and South Pacific Street.

Ocean’s Edge Wayside was funded after four years of tireless grant applications by a partnership of the City and the Rockaway Beach Chamber of Commerce. The grant ultimately was awarded by the Oregon State Parks and Recreation Department, with support from the Port of Tillamook Bay.

Ocean’s Edge is the spot where the historical natatorium once stood. The revamped site now includes tables and chairs, a pirate play ship for kids, and commemorative bricks surrounding the compass in the middle. One day a fountain or sculpture may be added.

The town circle offers access to seven miles of stunning beaches and is the gathering place where most community celebrations, festivals and the lighting of the Christmas tree take place.
